What is Ghee any way?
Ghee is widely used in Indian cuisine. However, it is mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh, and is probably Akkadian in origin. In many parts of India and Pakistan, especially in Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bengal, Orissa and many other states, rice is traditionally prepared or served with ghee (including biryani).

In the Bharuch district of Gujarat, Ghee is served with kichdi, usually an evening meal of yellow rice with curry, a sauce made from yoghurt, cumin seeds, kari leaves, ghee, cornflour, tumeric, garlic and salt. Ghee is also an ingredient as well as used in the preparation of kadhi and used in Indian and Pakistani sweets such as Mysore pak, and different varieties of halva and laddu. Punjabi cuisine prepared in restaurants uses large amounts of ghee. Naan and roti are sometimes brushed with ghee, either during preparation or while serving.

Essential Oils, Plant Oils, Animal Oils and Herbal Teas to Apply Topically

These are the most commonly mentioned oils for topical applications to stop hair loss and improve hair thickness.. I will write more about each of these. Many of these topicals could: Reduce inflammation, kill bacteria or other scalp parasites, and reduce dandruff.  Naturally, when an oil is applied one must massage it into the scalp, so an oil could simply be a used for the sake of facilitating a scalp/head massage. Also,  some of the topicals are simply carrier oils, that’s not to say that carrier oils by themselves are not beneficial!

Why the ones below?  I have found at least one person saying that at least one of these worked for them. If one person reported a benefit from a topical, that oil gets listed below.

note: Not one oil or one oil combination works for every one it seems, thus you have to experiment with single oils and combination (recipes).

  • Intro to Hypothyroidism Symptoms and Treatment

    If your TSH blood test is over 1.5 (not 5.0) you likely are hypothyroid, confirm this with a free T3 and free T4 tests

    Iodine deficiency is a common cause of hypothyroidism. Get enough Iodine , use SSKI to get Iodine

    Avoid soy (it induces hypothyroidism) especially un-fermented soy

    Use coconut oil

    If you are hypothyroid, hormones can be used, Synthroid (T4) and other synthetic hormones are not recommended. If you have not been on synthetic hormones for a long time using armour thyroid is better (gives you T1, T2, T3 and T4). Eventually you may be able to not need hormones at all. Your allopathic physician will prescribe synthetic drugs, a holistic doctor will prescribe armour thyroid instead.

    I take Iodoral or Lugols and eat sea weed to get iodine into my diet. I do “not” use table salt. Table salt should be avoided. Also cruciferous vegetables inhibit the thyroid and they should be steamed before being eaten to remedy this.
